Following the successful completion of the monument’s energy upgrade, ZILLION has been entrusted once again with a new restoration project at the Hagia Sophia of Thessaloniki.

On 22 June 2026, ZILLION officially signed the contract for the design, fabrication and installation of the steel structures required for the ongoing restoration works at the Hagia Sophia of Thessaloniki, one of Greece’s most significant Byzantine monuments and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

This marks ZILLION’s second project at the monument, following the successful completion of its energy upgrade. Returning to Hagia Sophia reflects the confidence placed in our engineering expertise and our ability to deliver technically demanding projects while respecting the unique character of cultural heritage sites.

The scope of the project includes the design, fabrication and installation of specially engineered steel structures that will support the restoration works without compromising the monument’s historical integrity. Every intervention has been carefully designed to meet the highest engineering standards while ensuring full compatibility with the restoration requirements.

Working on monuments of exceptional historical and cultural value requires more than technical excellence. It demands precision, responsibility and a deep respect for the heritage being preserved.

At ZILLION, we are proud to contribute once again to the preservation of one of Greece’s most iconic landmarks, combining engineering expertise with a commitment to protecting history for future generations.
