DOMESTIC
A typical solar water heater consists of solar collectors (either flat plate collectors or evacuated tube collectors), a hot water storage tank, and piping. Solar radiation is absorbed by the solar collector, and the collected heat is transferred to the storage tank. Flat plate collectors are typically installed on the roof of the building, facing south and inclined at an angle of 30°-60° relative to the horizon to maximize the amount of radiation collected annually.
A solar water heater is an attractive choice because it offers savings on the annual electricity bill, comfort (due to the direct consumption of hot water), minimal annual maintenance costs, and a long lifespan.
